Operations Security & Threat Assessments

Operations Security

Operations security (OPSEC) is the process of identifying individual pieces of seemingly innocuous data that could be grouped (aggregated) together to paint a bigger picture. Historically, OPSEC was used to protect critical information deemed mission essential by military commanders, senior leaders, management and other decision-making entities.  Today OPSEC is being adopted worldwide in both public and private sector.

The OPSEC process typically results in the development of one or more counterintelligence measures that eliminate or reduce adversary exploitation of friendly information.
